The franchise’s greatest highlight is the automotive destruction.
Second-unit crew from Fast8 continue to use Cleveland, Ohio as a location for filming the film’s action. This clip shows how cars are falling out the sky in order to make one of these stunts happen. The vehicles roll out of a parking lot and plunge down to the street below, erupting in a pyrotechnic explosion.
Filming in Cleveland is cheaper than in a larger city. These stunts will likely be used for some of the action in Manhattan. They have been filming there for several days. The crew started with one car being rolled out of a garage. Stunt drivers were also reportedly practicing in the mall’s lot.
The stunts were shot in Cleveland by this team, but the stars are filming in Cuba. This was the first time that a Hollywood production has been allowed to film in Cuba for decades. Although the studio has not yet revealed much about the plot, the producers already named Charlize Theron the hero’s greatest adversary ever. We also know that Vin Diesel, Dwayne John, and Michelle Rodriguez are back in the cast.
Fast8 will be in theaters across the United States from April 14th, 2017. This clip suggests that it’s yet another car action spectacle, and should continue to do well at the box-office.
