Shmee Examines The Bonkers Alfa Romeo Giula GTA and Its Two Seats

You know it’s special when a car has more doors and seats.

Alfa Romeo revealed the Giulia GTAm and Giulia GTA dynamic duos about five months ago. However, we haven’t heard much about super sedans. Gran Turismo Alleggerita isn’t getting enough attention, except for the retro-flavored liveries and the details about the high price tag. YouTuber was able to film a walkaround video of the Gran Turismo Alleggerita, which is arguably the most extreme four-door car ever to come from Italy.
He wasn’t content with a “base GTA” as he was able to test the GTAm, which increases the sedan’s track-focused capabilities. The main change to the regular GTA is the rear-seat deletion in the same vein that the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 with the optional Track pack. Despite the addition of a larger front splitter and a more substantial rear wing, it is still road legal.
The GTAm and Alfa Romeo will include a racing suit in addition to the racing helmets. You’ll also notice bespoke moldings at the back of the seats. These are there to keep your helmets and a fire extinguisher safe in case of an emergency.

Alfa Romeo used the simplest rear door cards to reduce weight, as there were no rear seats. The front door handles have been replaced with straps. Lexan was used to cover the sides and rear windows. The GTAm weighed in at a remarkable 1,520 kg (3.351 lbs) and this weight reduction is all combined.

The Giulia range-topping models have a wider body and stripped out interior. They also feature centerlock 20-inch wheels, and a titanium Akrapovic exhaust with centrally mounted tips. The sedan’s imposing look is perfectly complemented by the twin-turbo, 2.9-liter V6.

It’s easy for the Giulia GTA to be an amazing car, with all the power going to the rear wheels of a car that has been through a Draconian diet. Production is limited to 500 units, and prices start at EUR176,500 (GTA) and EUR181,500 (GTAm). In dollars, the cost is approximately $208,000 and $214,000 respectively. Ouch.
