Ford continues to prepare us for the premiere even though the cat is out of the bag.
Ford teased the new Puma ST in May, but the company was able to focus on other more important activities over the next few weeks. The automaker has released a short teaser clip previewing the sportsy crossover at the beginning of August. It will be available for purchase on September 24th.
The Tweet video features a few details of the car’s exterior and mixes them together with reactions from people who were involved in the design of the Puma ST. The video shows the engine starting and then the car taking a bumpy ride on bumpy roads with emotions sounds and facial expressions from the “helpers”.
The Puma ST, a forbidden fruit in the United States is going to combine the thrill of a performance hatch with practicality of small crossover. The 1.5-liter turbocharged, three-cylinder Fiesta ST engine will be fitted to the front-wheel-drive SUV. It should produce 198 horsepower (148kilowatts) as well as 213 pound-feet (2290 Newton-meters). The engine can go 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in six seconds.
The Puma ST has been tested several times. Our artists also created an unofficial image (see the below), without hiding any details. The Puma ST will almost be unrivalled in small crossover segments on the European market when it goes on sale later in the year. We can only think of the Volkswagen T-Roc, which has the 190-hp (142-kW), 2.0-liter TSI motor. However, it isn’t exactly a performance crossover.
