Chevy Corvette C8 Z06 rendering shows track star with aggressive aero

According to reports, it has a 5.5-liter V8 and a flat-plane crankshaft.

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 remains one of the most popular cars in the world despite production being halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The C8 will eventually take over star status. This new rendering shows how the hotter model would look without the roof panel.

Chevy engineers won’t need to make any major changes to the Z06’s front due to its new mid-engine layout. This major change is an aggressive front fascia design and larger creases on the hood. The fenders may need to be adjusted to accommodate wider tires. This rendering gives the hotter ‘Vette a set of attractive wheels that features angled spokes and a star-shaped center.

This Z06’s rear retains much of its original design. A new rear spoiler is available that borrows styling elements from the C7 Z06. An tall wing similar to the one found on the C8.R-racer is also rumored to be available.

Rumours suggest that the Z06 is powered by a 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 and a flat-plane crank from C8.R racecar. Competition rules limit the power output to 500 horsepower (373 Kilowatts) or 480 pound-feet (651 Nms) of torque. The road-going version could have more power without the performance adjustments.

The debut date of the C8 Z06’s launch is unknown. Plant closures make it even more difficult to predict the timing. Chevy may have to delay the C8 convertible’s introduction until 2021, despite having received orders. This is because they can’t make them.
