You have more space inside for cargo and passengers.
Update: The overall length of the vehicle has been adjusted to show that the new model is about three inches longer than its predecessor.
The eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf has a wider range, at least in the markets outside of the United States. We now have the Volkswagen Golf Variant, Alltrack, and standard hatchback models.
We are talking about the Golf’s long-roof version, which is designed for families that don’t want to be limited by the SUVs. The good news is that the new generation has more space than ever to transport people, children, cargo, and simply enjoy the outdoors.
The Variant is now longer and has a wider wheelbase. It measures 182.28 inches (4.63 m) in length and has a 105.75 inch (2.68 meter) wheelbase. This model is approximately 3 inches longer than the seventh-generation model and has 2.6 inches more between the wheels. This means that there is more legroom. It increases by about 1.5 inches. The five-door Golf’s width and height are identical to the Golf’s without the longitudinal bars.
The boot is also slightly larger than the previous Variant, and we don’t mean slightly. With rear seats in place you have 21.58 cubic feet (611 Liters), whereas the previous Variant had 21.37 cubic feet (05 Liters). You can fold things up to make space for 57.99 cubic feet (1 642 liters). This is a similar increase. Bag hooks and fastening rings are included in the cargo area. It can also have two power sockets: one 12-volt, and one 230-volt. Optionally, you can use the hands-free function to open the gate. To do this, simply place your foot under it. To make it happen, you will need the key nearby.
We are already familiar with the Golf 8 so any discussion of design changes will be confined to the back. This wagon looks sporty with its slightly shaped shoulders, rear spoiler, bumper volume, and bumper volume. The R-Line version has even more of a sporty look. The third side window gives the Golf Variant the appearance of a coupe. This optical trick is a clever one for the exterior. Although it appears that the roofline is lower than it actually is, the headroom for occupants promises a lot of comfort.
The engine will offer the same power options under the hood as the standard Golf. Europe will have a variety of turbocharged engines that can either burn gasoline or diesel and produce 110 to 150 horsepower. While it is possible that some engine options may be limited in certain regions, full-on hybrids won’t be available, at least not immediately. These platforms could take up valuable cargo space. However, VW’s mild hybrid eTSI option is still offered.
A high-performance R model would be very un-hybrid, which we hope will arrive sooner. Spy photosshowing an Variant with quad exhaust tips, low-profile tires and low-profile tires are certainly encouraging.
The 2021 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack will launch in parallel with the Variant, which comes standard with 4Motion all wheel drive and greater ground clearance. It is also distinguished by its outdoor-lifestyle design, which is achieved with plastic cladding around most of the body’s lower perimeter. You can customize the interior and it can tow up to 4,400lbs (2,000 kg) depending on which engine you choose.
Volkswagen has announced that the Variant, Alltrack and other models will be available in Europe by the end of 2020. In 2021, a wider launch will be made in other European markets. However, it is unlikely that the Alltrack will ever make its way to America. The pricing will be announced closer the date of on-sale.
