Built The Last JK-Era Jeep Wrangler

Goodbye sweet prince.

The Jeep Wrangler has become an iconic symbol of off-road capabilities. People were furious when the automaker introduced the Wrangler four-door to the public in 2006. Twelve years later, the last Jeep WranglerJK to cross the line is now a white 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. It has those four doors that were once considered blasphemous. The truck was rolled from the company’s Toledo Supplier Park, Ohio.

Jeep sold more than 2.1million JK Wranglers over its lifetime, with the four-door model surpassing the two door version. With few compromises, the Wrangler was made available to families with two additional doors.

“This workforce has worked practically non-stop over the past few years to fulfill Jeep enthusiasts around the globe who want to travel where only a Wrangler will take them,” stated Chuck Padden, Toledo Assembly Facility Manager. “We are proud of the contribution we made to the history and impact this vehicle has had on the Toledo community. We are looking forward to that same dedication to the new Jeep truck.

The Jeep Wrangler won’t be going anywhere. The new JL Jeep Wrangler is already available. The new JL Jeep Wrangler looks almost identical to the previous model. However, it has been greatly improved. The entry-level Sport trim has a higher price – $23,995 to $23,995. However, you get a six speed manual transmission, Dana 30 & 35 solid front and back axles, a transfer box, and 17-inch All Season Bridgestone tires. This is all you need to have some off-road fun. The 3.6-liter V6 engine is the base model, and the 2.0-liter turbocharged mill is an option. There are many other improvements to the vehicle.

The Toledo Jeep factory will cease production of the Jeep, but it will soon be rebuilt. Soon, the plant will build the new Jeep Scrambler pickup vehicle. The workers will be busy if the truck is as successful as the JK Wrangler.
