The massive glass roof of the new teaser is shown in a new teaser.
The Chevrolet Silverado EV debuts at CES 2022, which will take place in Las Vegas on January 5. Mary Barra, General Motors CEO, will present the electric truck in her keynote speech.
Chevy has now promised that the Silverado EV will have a fixed-glass roof. It boasts being the largest panel of its kind in the segment. According to the company, it offers greater headroom and better visibility.
The teaser photo shows the Silverado at the top, but doesn’t show the exterior styling. Except at the rear, where there are scalloped sections, the fixed glass panel follows the roof’s shape.
A glimpse of the cabin is available. The top of the central stack houses a large, portrait-oriented infotainment display. Below the display are two large knobs in metallic finishes. Two cupholders can also be seen below the display. It is difficult to see everything else.
The automaker announced that this is the first time a fixed-glass roof has been applied to a GM pickup in full-size truck segments. This is a bit confusing, as the Hummer EV has a large, glass roof with removable panels.
Silverado EV, a completely new creation that rides on the Ultium platform, is a stunning vehicle. It’s also available with four-wheel steering, just like the new Hummer. According to the automaker, it can travel 400 miles per charge. Chevy plans to sell the truck both in fleet and retail versions.
GM had previously indicated that the Silverado EV would launch in late 2021. However, the new January 2022 premiere date doesn’t change that plan.
GM will partner with Silverado EV to build the Silverado EV at Detroit-Hamtramck Factory Zero. There will also be the GMC Hummer Electric Vehicle models.
