Chip Foose Reimagines Ford Bronco as a Street Rod

This is a very different approach to the Bronco.

He doesn’t like to design modified vehicles that are in line with the current trend. This ethos is applied to the 2021 Ford Bronco, resulting in a hot rod-inspired SUV with a low ride height and a swept back windshield.

Foose loves the new Bronco’s appearance. However, he can help someone who wants to make a change. Foose keeps the wheelbase and the shape of the fenders, but changes almost everything else.

The custom Bronco’s front bumper is more prominent, making the SUV seem to be sitting closer to the ground. The tie-downs at the hood have been removed. He dramatically angles the windshield to create a more sleek front.

To enhance the vehicle’s stance, new side sills taper upward. Foose prefers to use big tires for off-road purposes and instead uses large Mustang-style wheels with thin rubber wrapped around them. Foose also envisions the roll hoops and rear spoiler as one piece that attaches to the body.

Foose finishes the look by covering the front fenders and hood with a black stripe with orange accents. The darker shade is carried to the windshield, rollbar, and along the windowline.

Foose imagining possible powetrains to this machine in the video. Foose mentions multiple times that he uses the running gear of the Ford Mustang Mach 1 with a 5.0-liter V8 generating 480 horsepower (358kilowatts). He suggests that the hot rod SUV be given 1,000 horsepower (746 kW), which is a bit too cartoonish.

Foose is the only person who can build a Bronco hotrod. Ford doesn’t sell anything like it. The Blue Oval instead is building the heavy-handed Warthog .
