It offers the most rear legroom among all sedans, except for the Phantom Extended.
The all-new Ghost was introduced by Rolls-Royce at the beginning of March. Now, the elegant folks from Goodwood have launched the long-wheelbase version. To offer outstanding rear legroom, the Phantom Extended is 170 millimeters (6.7 in) longer than the standard model.
Rolls-Royce wanted the classic lines of the standard version to be preserved. They only extended the rear doors and body panels around the apertures. The real magic lies inside the cabin, where the Ghost Extended can be ordered with a “Serenity” reclining seat for the first time. RR claims it offers the kind of comfort that you would only find in a business jet’s cabin.
The 2021 Ghost Extended, which is a Rolls-Royce that boasts a host of high-class features and a staggering 220 pounds (100 kg) of acoustic damping material, is one of the most technologically advanced Rolls-Royces ever. The 2021 Ghost Extended features a head-up display, self parking function, sophisticated air filter system, and laser headlights that offer more than 600m (nearly 2000 feet) of illuminated range.
The company’s Architecture of Luxury platform underpins the new Ghost Extended. It uses the 6.75-liter V12 engine that produces 563 horsepower (420kilowatts) as well as 850 Newton-meters (627 pounds-feet). Variable shock absorbers, a first-in-industry upper wishbone damper and self-leveling airstrut assemblies make the “Magic Carpet Ride” experience even more enjoyable.
For effortless cruising, the powerhouse is connected to an eight speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive and steering are available on the Ghost Extended.
Rolls-Royce has not revealed pricing details for the United States. However, expect to pay more than $332,500 Ghost.
