2021 Chevy Silverado HD Snatches Max Towing Crown from Ford Super Duty

Other changes are also included in the model year update.

The Ford Super Duty trucks are the best-selling towing vehicles for many years. But, it seems like this will change next year with the 2021 Chevy Chevy Silverado. The Silverado HD receives significant updates for the model year 2021, which gives it a new best in-class tow rating.

It’s specifically the 2021 Silverado 3500 HD, which is a regular-cab, dual-rear-wheel and two-wheel-drive work truck that pulls the most. The Silverado 3500 HD is equipped with a 6.6L Duramax Diesel with 10-speed Allison transmission, Max Tow Package and a maximum tow rating of 36,000 pounds (16.329 kilograms). This vehicle has been certified to SAE J2807 standards.
The current Ford F-350 can pull 35,400 lbs (16.057 kg) in Regular Cab 4×4 and SuperCab 4×2 configurations. It has a 6.7-liter Power Stroke Diesel V8. This is not a bad car, but it’s a bit short compared to 2021 Silverado HD.

The F-450 is rated at 37,000 lbs (16.783 kg) maximum pulling power. The Ram 3500 can pull 35,100 lbs (15.921 kg).
