The Escalade retails at $102,000 but does not include the $600 heavy-duty trailering package which includes a 2-speed transfer case. There is no low-range option, but there is a terrain mode which allows the driver to simulate it. The vehicle’s speed can be controlled by the brakes. Air suspension allows the driver to raise the ride height to get a bit more clearance. Bridgestone all-season tires are used for this vehicle, but they’re not ideal for off-roading.Cadillac’s 6.2-liter V8 produces 420 horsepower (313 Kilowatts) as well as 460 pound-feet (623 Newton meters) through a 10-speed auto. Although it has rear-wheel drive, it also comes with four-wheel drive. The 2021 Escalade also comes with a 3.0-liter turbodiesel that produces 277 horsepower (207 kW) as well as 460 lb/ft (623 Nm).

The Escalade is challenged to climb a steep but short grade. After spinning the front wheel of the Cadillac’s driver side, while it is in the air, the drivetrain shifts power to the rear. The Cadillac then gets over the berm.
