This trailer is in high demand.
The Specialty Equipment Market Association ( SEMA) will present a show unlike any other. The event will not take place in the traditional form with thousands of visitors due to obvious social limitations. According to organizers, the event will be renamed SEMA360 for this year. This is a digital show that will feature thousands of visitors.
Toyota is a regular exhibitor and has no plans to leave the show as it exists today. The Japanese manufacturer teased a few concepts it will show at the SEMA360. These include a trio Supra sports cars and an overlanding concept that is designed to fulfill “our dreams of adventure getaways where we can safely connect with family, friends, and nature.”
The teaser video at the top of this page suggests that the prototype isn’t actually a vehicle, but a trailer. The TRD Sport Trailer is built on the cargo bed from a Toyota Tacoma TRD off-road. It “could be any type of utility trailer all the up to an overlanding caravan,” Bob Kupina, senior program manager at Toyota, explained.
Although we don’t know everything yet, the factory-made trailer will come equipped with many things to make your outdoor evening perfect. These include a Yamaha generator, a refrigerator-freezer, a sink, a cooking corner, and more. You can also store your bikes, kayaks and other hiking and camping gear. It’s also safe to assume that all modifications were done by a team made up of Toyota engineers and mechanics.
“For 2020 we are celebrating pure performance on and off the road. “Supra and Tacoma are iconic brands with legendary performance, so it made good sense to use them this year,” Ed Laukes Group Vice President Marketing Toyota Division, said.
