2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6, Silently Tested on German Roads

It looks quick.

Hyundai is a bold company that plans to expand its all-electric vehicle lineup over the next few decades. It introduced the Ioniq5 in February. This is the first of its new Ioniq subbrands. The Ioniq 6 sedan will join them soon. Spy shots of the Ioniq 6 have been shown, with the car doing its best Prophecy Concept imitation. However, a new CarSpyMedia video gives an idea of how it will look when it is moving.

The video shows the sedan driving on German roads. While the car sounds quiet, there is still a lot of road and tire noise coming from it. Other sounds obscure any artificial or electric motor whine. Camouflage and thick cladding continue to cover the car, which can distort its swoopy appearance. Although it doesn’t look nearly as elegant as the original concept, this could be due to the camouflage. The production version may be just as bold as the concept.

The Ioniq 6, which will be based on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform. This platform also supports the new Hyundai Ioniq 5, and a bunch of other EVs from the brand, including Genesis and Kia models. We expect to see the Ioniq 5’s powertrains make their way into Ioniq 6. The single-motor rear wheel-drive model should have a range of around 300 miles, while the dual-motor all-wheel drive variant should be able to go about 270 miles.

We expect a N variant with high performance to be available at some point. However, it will most likely arrive after the regular variants are covered. Although the 6 appears ready for production, we will have to wait a while for the official unveiling. The new EV from Hyundai won’t be revealed until next year, but it will arrive as a 2023 model.
