100 units are in production and are not cheap.
Hennessey-venom is a name that you are likely to be familiar with. Hennessey built the Venom GT from Lotus-Elise and it was a hypercar that could go 270 mph. The Venom, the company’s upcoming machine, can reach 300 mph. Although it won’t reach those speeds, the Venom will hit 60 mph in just four seconds. It will travel wherever it pleases.
This is Ford’s Venom 800 F-150, Hennessey’s latest version of Ford’s full-size pickup. Although the truck is a Platinum Super Crew model, you won’t see the EcoBoost V6 underneath. Hennessey chooses the 5.0-liter engine V8, which gets a huge supercharger that displaces 3.0 liters. To fuel such a beast, a modified fuel system is required. The truck also gets a new cold air induction system and stainless steel exhaust. Hennessey offers a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty that combines all performance upgrades.
It’s a 5.0 with 805 horsepower (592 Kilowatts) and a quarter-mile in 3.6 seconds. The F150 can reach 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, and the quarter-mile in only 11.9 seconds. The Venom 800 also gets an upgraded Brembo brake system and a beefy suspension with six-inch lift and 35 inch tires. The package includes a custom Hennessey grille, front bumper, offroad lights and the required badging.
Hennessey clearly has the new Ram TX in its sights, and this is not because of the official announcement. The Venom’s straight-line performance is significantly faster, and the updated suspension should give the tweaked F-150 some aggressive off-road capability. We don’t have any details on the suspension so we can’t tell if it is Raptor-ready. However, we expect buyers to be more interested in the 800 horsepower under the hood.
Buyers will need to be very financially sound. The truck’s price is $149,500 and there are only 100 units in production.
