The Bugatti Chiron is how it’s made.

Bugatti must produce just 400 more Chirons. In May, the company launched Chiron number 100. We assume that they have made at least 20 more since then. There will only be 500 of them, with 70 going to customers each. This is a small number, even by modern automotive industry standards. But there’s an easy explanation: Bugatti values quality more than quantity.

Each Chiron is actually hand-built from over 1,800 parts by 20 workers at Bugatti’s factory in Molsheim. You can choose from 23 topcoat colors, eight carbon versions, and 31 colors for the leather in the cabin if you are wealthy. Customizing your Chiron is possible at the Chateau Saint Jean in Molsheim. Here, customers are greeted by a designer who explains all options.

In his latest video, Shmee150, our friend and Youtuber takes us on a virtual tour of Bugatti’s factory. After touring the factory where the designer meets his future customers, he visits the atelier to see how the cars are made. Each Chiron takes eight weeks to complete from its initial drawing to the final supercar.

Shmee150 goes “back in the past” at the end to learn more about the origins of the French marque. Here are some of Bugatti’s most rare and exotic cars, such as the T35, Royale and Veyron 16.4 concepts, as well as the Veyron Vitesse and WRC.
