2022 Mercedes C-Class Spied Looking Ready For World Premiere
Mercedes hasn’t yet announced when the W206 will be released, but it shouldn’t take much longer.

Our spy photographers have seen the Mercedes C-Class Sedan on numerous occasions. As the camouflage continues to fall, more of the production skin is being revealed, the official premiere must be just around the corner.

The three-pointed star was seen putting the final touches to its revamped 3Series competitor. He also tested a prototype that appeared almost ready for the premiere. The most significant styling changes made to the W205 are obvious even with the makeup. The front is getting a more defined look with slimmer headlights, possibly an enlarged grille and horizontal taillights like on all recent Mercedes sedans.
Although it’s not a significant departure from the predecessor, it isn’t going to be any less than the new despite its completely redesigned interior. There are major interior changes happening to the C-Class. It will now have a touchscreen integrated into its dash and ditch the tablet-styled infotainment. The C-Class won’t feature the same fancy setup of the W223, but this is to be expected considering the position of the two models.

The S family has been simplified by the elimination of the coupe/convertible, but the C lineup will grow to include an All-Terrain variant to compete with the Audi A4 Allroad. The C-Class should be able to fight back against the SUV assault, including Mercedes’ GLC.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic is making 2021 a difficult year for auto shows. Therefore, Mercedes may unveil the new C-Class at an independent event. It is likely that an official unveiling will take place in the next few months, with most of the disguise removed.

The logic tells us that the sedan will be first followed by the wagon and then the two-door models. The AMG and the C63 sporty C53 are likely to be revealed in 2022. They are believed to only come with electrified four-cylinder engine to the dismay of those who believe displacement is impossible to replace.
