Which will win? Power output or weight advantage?
This YouTube video by Carwow tries to answer this question but with a twist. The Nissan GT-R is not a normal Japanese sports coupe. It was modified by Litchfield Motors, a British tuning company.
Most of you will be familiar with Litchfield’s work on the 992-generation Porsche 911, and Toyota Supra. It brings out the best from the already powerful cars using simple ECU tuning. Even a Litchfield-tuned GT-R faced an Acura NSX in a straight-line race. The Honda supercar was absolutely smoked.
The Litchfield GT-R we saw previously only had 631 horsepower (471 Kilowatts), but this Carwow drag racer has even more power. It has 670 horsepower (500 kW) as well as 612 pound-feet (830 Newton meters) of torque.
These numbers place the GT-R at the top of this three-way matchup. Both the Huracan Performante as well as the Audi R8 use the same 5.2-liter V10. The Lamborghini is more powerful than the tuned Audi. The GT-R is more powerful numbers-wise, however.
However, the GT-R’s tuned GT-R has another thing to be concerned about besides power. It is the most heavy of the bunch, at least 100 kg (220 pounds) heavier than R8, and the Huracan Performante is even lighter.
Is the Litchfield GT-R able to offset its weight disadvantage by its huge power output? The race embedded on the top. Save time and jump to the third race, as the first two were only fillers.
