2022 Audi A8 Rendered To Imagine Look Of Upcoming Refresh

The headlights have been modified, the grille mesh has changed, and the lower fascia has been redesigned.

Recently, spy photos of a refreshed Audi A8 were taken in Germany. Motor.eshas created a rendering to show how the upgraded flagship sedan from the German brand looks with the camouflage removed. Although it is not a major redesign, this render helps to differentiate the new model visually.

Below is a comparison of the front fascia. The new design creates a distinct distinction by extending the lower crosspieces into corner inlets.

Also, the grille is different. Instead of having a series of horizontal sections, the grille has an eggcrate-style design. Spy shots also show a different mesh design with a jagged appearance on one of the development vehicles.

The new headlights have a section added to the lower section of the body. The current A8 lamps have a flatter lower edge.

This rendering shows only the front. However, spy shots show that the taillights are the same shape, but the lamps inside have a new design. It’s impossible to see what the company has done to camouflage the bumper. This is enough to indicate that there have been alterations.

Audi has been working on improved assist driving features, so it is likely that the A8 will get tech upgrades. The Four Rings was originally designed to offer the luxury sedan with Level 3 self driving capability which would allow for hands-free operation. The company abandoned the plan due to lack of regulation from the government and concerns about legal liability.

Rumours suggest that Audi will introduce the super-luxurious Horch variant to the A8 at the same time as its mid-cycle refresh. Although it is expected to compete with Mercedes’ Maybach models, it would not be extravagant enough to take sales away from the Bentley Flying Spur.
