This VW Beetle is a sham, and it’s for sale.

This car would make any Beetle enthusiast a lifelong Beetle lover.

There are two types of Beetlemania. The first is about a 1960’s rock band, while the second revolves around a rear engined runabout that’s neither fast nor nimble but has biblical charm and character.

Except for the Beetle, which is crazy fast. It’s available on eBay.

This 1965 Volkswagen Beetle is for sale. It was originally built with a 1,200cc engine air-cooled and rated at 36 horsepower. It was initially built in Germany, but it ended up being sold to the United States. It was literally taken apart and rebuilt with one purpose in mind – to be absolutely awesome.

We don’t think so. The build video below shows the entire process from start-to-finish. Spoiler alert – The contents include a new suspension, big brakes and a roll cage. This is to assist the Beetle with a modified 2.5-liter EJ25 turbocharged 4-pot ripped from a Subaru WRX STI. Although we don’t know how much power it produces, a bone-stock STI mill can produce 300 ponies – nearly tenths of the original horsepower. This car lacks a red cape that has a huge S on it.

This car is a classic in custom cars. The build was meticulously documented, and the workmanship is top-notch. It still has a very stock exterior appearance. However, the Beetle’s unusually large rear wheels, slightly raised engine cover and optional whale tail wings suggest that something is amiss beneath its bodywork. We don’t know the reason why the seller decided to part ways with the project, but we believe it was one of those rare finds that doesn’t fall under standard rules.

eBay bidding is currently at $16,700 as of August 3rd, with 54 bids logged. This crazy Beetle has more than four days to go. Do you want to guess how high the bidding will go??
