Ford Maverick Timberline To Be Arrive with Light Off-Road Chops

This is in support of trademark filings which were filed more than two years ago.

The arrival of the Ford Maverick at this stage is as certain as the sunset. We have enough information to draw a picture of the compact truck which will fit below the Ranger based on prior leaks and prototype sightings.

Ford Authority provides additional information about the Maverick pickup . Sources familiar with the product plans say that the Maverick will be getting a tougher, lighter off-road-ready version.

Ford is trying to revive the badge again. This is not the first time we have heard of it. Two years ago, trademark filings were made for the Maverick and Timberline name. This sparked rumors about the return of the badge. The Explorer as well as the Expedition SUVs, were also seen testing ruggeder versions of themselves.

Buyers can expect a different-tuned suspension and distinct rim designs, along with exterior upgrades to enhance an active lifestyle.

The Maverick nameplate will be built on Ford’s C2 platform. It shares the same platform as the Bronco Sports and Escape. It is believed that it will be constructed in Mexico so that the Blue Oval can avoid the “chicken tax” on light trucks. Although the exact location of the plant is not yet known, it is possible that it will be constructed alongside the Bronco Sports in Hermosillo.

Although the Maverick’s arrival is not yet confirmed by the company, it is expected to arrive in spring 2022, possibly with the Timberline trim.
