It doesn’t sound like an V8.
Chevy launched the Corvette in July 2019. We have only received the entry-level Stingray. There are many variants – Grand Sport Z06, ZR1, etc. – but we don’t know much about their performance. Although rumors have it that the Grand Sport will be powered by a V8 hybrid, a spy video from Chevy suggests that a V6 hybrid could also be in development.
The video was shared by TFLnow A YouTube viewer captured a camouflaged Corvette being tested. It has some unique characteristics. One of its unique characteristics is the flap on each side of the rear fenders. The driver’s-side flap is located over the location of the fuel door. This could mean that the passenger side flap could conceal a charge port. The odd camo could be designed to confuse curious observers, as it has been seen on Corvette test vehicles.
The car’s exhaust note isn’t what you would expect. It sounds more like a turbocharged, V6. It sounds more like a turbocharged V6. The TLFnow channel also compares it with the Acura NSX’s exhaust note. Both engines share striking sound characteristics. Although there have been no rumors about such an engine being included in the Corvette’s future products, automakers aren’t keen to discuss them.
The most recent Corvette hybrid rumor suggests that the refreshed E-Ray trademark may replace the Grand Sport model. Chevy is rumored to pair the 6.2-liter V8 engine with two electric motors that will power the front wheels. This would give the car all-wheel-drive. It is expected that the model will arrive in 2023, and it will cost less than $100,000. Chevy may reveal the Z06, which is expected to arrive in 2020 with a naturally aspirated V8 of 5.5-liters and 600 horsepower. The spy video raises interesting questions about the future of the car.
