It’s available with 246 horsepower or 271 horsepower, just like the i30N hot hatch.
After the i30 and Veloster, Hyundai’s new i30 FastbackN is the third model in the “N” series. It’s a more practical sports car that doesn’t compromise on performance. The new N model is billed as the “first five-door hot coupe” in the C-segment. It has the same aggressive design cues of the previous two models but is more practical and easier to use on a daily basis.
The i30 Fastback N’s core engine is the turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline motor. It will be available in two tuning options: 246 horsepower or 271 hp for those equipped with the optional Performance Package. No matter which version you choose, the maximum torque is 353 Newton-meters (276 pound-feet), or temporary 378 Nm (279lb-ft), depending on whether the overboost function is activated. The six-speed manual transmission is the only way power is channeled to front wheels.
The base model of the go faster Fastback takes 6.4 seconds to reach 62 MPH (100 km/h) from a standing stop. However, the faster one cuts that time by three tenths to complete the task in just 6.1 seconds. Both models will reach speeds of 155 mph (250 km/h) flat out.
You can change the vehicle’s character with five different driving modes: Eco, Normal Sport, Sport, N, or N Custom. You can select your preferred setup using the buttons on the steering wheel. The N mode screen menu in the instrument cluster extends the customizable settings by allowing you to tweak the engine, rev matching and exhaust note. The N mode screen menu also offers access to features reserved for the Performance Package.
The i30 Fastback N is being revealed today. However, Thierry Neuville (professional Hyundai Motorsport driver) has already set a new record. They raced each other in a race between Rome & Paris. They were not competing against each other in a race between Rome and Paris, but rather the villages of western Denmark with these famous names. Tarquini won the race by crossing the finish line at 8 minutes and 18.49 seconds. This is an apparently new record.
The i30 Fastback N will be on display at Hyundai’s Paris Motor Show 2018 starting next week.
