Scion’s heart and soul was once the xB, but executives have now confirmed that the model will be discontinued.
Wards Auto spoke with Doug Murtha, Scion Vice President. He confirmed that the xB would be leaving the lineup by the end of this year. Murtha declined further details, but sales of the second-generation xB are not up to par with its predecessor. According to the publication, Kia sold 145,316 Souls in America last year, while Scion sold 16,583 of its xBs.
Despite this, Murtha believes that the 2016 iM Hatchback will fill the void left behind by the xB. However, he does not see it as a direct replacement.
