Officially, the Jeep Gladiator 4xe Plug In Hybrid is Now Available [UPDATE]

Jeep has so far denied plans to make a 4xe plug in hybrid Gladiator. According to reports, Jeep Global President Christian Meunier confirmed that an electrified Gladiator is in development during a recent conversation with Australian media. The report states that he said this in a clear and unambiguous manner, but he did not offer any further details, including a name.
Given that the Gladiator shares many similarities with the Wrangler and the Wrangler 4xe plug in hybrid, it is easy to conclude that a Gladiator4xe is on the horizon. Meunier’s statement is quite clear.

Jeep has no reason to believe that it won’t infuse the Gladiator with a hybrid engine. The only exception is that executives are still waiting to see how Wrangler buyers react to the plug-in hybrid system. The combination of the familiar turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and two electric motors gives the off-roader a staggering 375 horsepower (280 kilowatts), and a more impressive 470 pound feet (637 Newton-meters), of torque. The 4xe is a popular choice for slow-speed off-roaders. For the US market, there are tax incentives that allow for hybrid and electric vehicles to be priced at a similar price to a standard ICE model.
It’s not about when a Gladiator4xe will arrive, but if it does. This is the mystery of the moment. However, we would not be surprised to learn more about it in the future.
