Awkwafina and Kenan Thompson are available to assist in a GMC Hummer Electric Vehicle.
Ferrell is furious that Norway is such a strong EV marketplace. To pick up Thompson, he gets behind the wheel a Lyriq. Farrell then goes to Awkwafina, who undoubtedly is practicing archery.
Ferrell discusses GM’s Ultium batteries, before pulling into a container and heading off by boat for Norway. Thompson and Awkwafina, on the other hand, are riding in a GMC Hummer Electric EV.
Ferrell finally makes it to his destination, but he quickly realizes how beautiful it is. Thompson and Awkwafina get lost in Finland, but they have a reindeer to keep them company. Ferrell discovers that he is in Sweden and not Norway, which is a last stinger. A little text appears on the screen to show GM’s promise to launch 30 EVs before 2025.
The ad does not explain, from a layman’s point of view, what it is that Ferrell finds so mad about Norway’s EV numbers. The Lyriq and GMC Hummer EV are not mentioned. It seems that the company assumes everyone knows what they’re called. Because there is no direct indication that these vehicles use the technology, the commercial forces viewers to believe they are linked to GM’s Ultium battery.
This commercial will be broadcast during the Super Bowl’s first quarter. This is the extended 90-second version.
