Infiniti will soon introduce the QX60 crossover, although the automaker may not have much to share. Today, the company revealed that the crossover’s 2022 model will see a 20% increase in its towing capacity due to the nine-speed automatic transmission Infiniti. This was teased earlier this month.
Select trims of the QX60 will be able to tow up to 6,000 lbs (2,721 kg) of weight. Infiniti claims the new nine-speed manual gearbox is capable of delivering more hauling power than the previous model’s 3.5-liter V6. Towing models weighing 6,000 lbs will receive an upgraded transmission cooler, integrated hitch receiver, and new stability programming designed for the trailer. With the increased capacity, the QX60 can tow up to 22 feet.

The updated powertrain will be housed in a new exterior design and updated interior. Infiniti showed the updated crossover’s styling in September with its QX60 Monograph Concept. Infiniti didn’t say when the 2022 QX60 would be revealed, but it did state that it would soon. The new three-row SUV is expected to go on sale in the US and Canada later this year.
