This truck looks futuristic with its sharp lines.
In 2020, Chevrolet sold nearly 700,000 pickups across the United States. This was more than any other vehicle the company has sold. Chevrolet trucks are a very important part of the company’s business. Therefore, its designers continue to explore the possibilities for the future design of pickups. This is the latest post from the General Motors Design Insta page. It shows the styling of the next-gen.
This rendering is by Jacky Zhan, according to an Instagram post. His design incorporates some of the main design cues of the current Silverado front and accents them to create an avant-garde truck.
Also, the hood sculpting has become more prominent. Sharper lines are found on the portion that flares upward from each side. For a more cohesive appearance, the more angular look blends well into the headlights.
Zhan uses rectangular fender openings along the sides. This gives the haunches an athletic appearance. The door sculpting is simpler and flows inward, rather than having a flared section along the lower edge. The truck is equipped with a running board that allows for easy access to the cabin.
Silverado will receive a refresh for the 2022 model-year. However, there is no indication that it will be as important as Zhan’s renderings. While the exterior changes are minor, the interior change is said to be a major overhaul that will make the cabin more pleasant to use.
