The trend started last year with the China-only Kodiaq GT badge. Now, the logo on the backs of European models will be replaced by the “SKODA” lettering prominently displayed on the tailgate. It’s been seen on the electric Citigo and Scala and Kamiq as well as the facelifted Superb. Now, two additional Skoda vehicles are dropping the corporate badge at the rear. The Kodiaq and Karoq SUVs will be entering the 2020 model years with a variety of minor modifications.

If you are looking for an adaptive chassis, Skoda can offer DCC on any front-wheel-drive Karoq and Kodiaq. You get electronically adjustable shock absorbers in three modes (Comfort/Normal, Sport) that can be tailored to your driving style.

The 2020MY’s two SUVs will be without the Blind Spot Detect system. This is to make way for a more advanced optional Side Assist system, which boasts a range of 20 to 70 meters. Dual radar sensors detect vehicles from behind and are in the blind spot. The warning light, which can now be adjusted, has been moved from behind the mirror to inside the wing mirrors in order to make them more visible.

The 2020 Karoq and Kodiaq now feature a more advanced version the KESSY system, which incorporates a motion sensor. Tech enthusiasts will be pleased to know this. It works like this: After 15 minutes, the transmitter signal in the key will go off. It is then reactivated when you move it. The risk of your vehicle being stolen is greatly reduced by this method.

The Karoq has a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine that produces 190 horsepower (140kilowatts). It is exclusively connected to a seven speed DSG and all-wheel-drive.

The larger Kodiaq has 20-inch wheels, including the Sportline trim, Laurin & Klement and the Kodiaq RS – a.k.a. The fastest seven seat SUV at the Nurburgring.

The rear Skoda badge has been removed from the SUVs. Only the Octavia (and the Fabia) still have it. The company’s most popular model will switch to the Next Generation later in the year. It will also drop its rear logo. While the supermini will follow suit sometime in 2020.
