Even after the Scala’s arrival, the Rapid will still exist in Russia or China.

2020 Skoda Model Reveal: The Skoda Rapid Tease

The 2020 Rapid, as with every other design sketch by an automaker has looked very promising. The real deal will not come even close to what history has seen. Skoda has not confirmed that the new generation will switch to MQB platforms by finally removing the PQ26 bones from its predecessor.

Skoda Russia has said that it will begin production of the second generation Rapid within the next few weeks. The production will be done locally at the Kaluga Volkswagen Group plant, located approximately 170 km (106 miles) southwest Moscow. Here the Polo and the four-cylinder 1.6 MPI engines (EA211) are also assembled.
