Too small to be used in the United States, but perfect for Europe.
Volkswagen launched the T-Roc last summer and is now looking to reduce the crossover market by introducing the Polo-based T-Cross. The new spy photos allow us to have a better look at the compact crossover, as Wolfsburg has graciously removed the camouflage. It’s pretty much all of it anyway.
Although the taillights may seem a little too large for such a small vehicle, what you are actually seeing is stickers stuck to smaller clusters. You’ll see a black tape running from one taillight into the other above the VW logo if you look closely. This tape is there to conceal the LED strip that was revealed in July’s teaser photo. Stickers can be found at the bottom of rear bumper, where the exhaust finishers look ridiculously fake.
The same thing happens at the front. There are also stickers that appear to make the cluster look lower, but in reality the actual cluster is quite different. The grille’s extremities are also affected by glossy black plastic pieces near the headlights.
The interior of the prototype is not yet available, but we can see it from the Polo’s cockpit. This is because the Cross will heavily resemble the supermini VW. The interior will be heavily influenced by the B-segment hatchback and most of the tech.
VW has reduced the amount camouflage used on its prototypes. This likely means that the official unveiling of the T-Cross is expected to take place in the coming weeks. A smaller T-Track is rumored to be coming out as a follow up to the small Taigun concept.
