The smaller Navigator brother has a design that is inspired by aeronautical history.
The Lincoln Aviator is the perfect SUV for today’s SUV-hungry society. Ford’s premium brand will launch today at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, a brand-new three-row luxury SUV. Its design is similar to the prototype that was introduced earlier in this year in New York. These videos showcase the production-ready model’s sophisticated exterior design and a luxurious cabin that will convince you to avoid buying a Volvo XC90, a Mercedes GLE, or a BMW X5 model.
The all-new Aviator was created to bridge the gap between Navigator and Nautilus. It is also shown below in Grand Touring specification. This will allow those who are ready to embrace electrification to see it. The first plug-in hybrid Lincoln, this eco-friendly SUV keeps the same design as its older siblings but combines the twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine with hybrid tech. It is expected to produce 450 horsepower and 600 pound-feet (813 Newton meters) of torque. This should be sufficient for shoppers in the luxury SUV category.
Lincoln has packed a lot of sophisticated systems into the 2020 Aviator to be competitive with other tech-laden models in this segment. The 2020 Aviator features a smart adaptive suspension, a 28 speaker Revel sound system, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and the ability to convert your smartphone into an ignition key.
The interior design is inspired by the larger Navigator. It looks nice and comfortable, with leather upholstery and cabin themes that take inspiration from vintage luggage and even a ski lodge. The Aviator’s interior is a mix of wood and aluminum accents to suit different tastes. It offers a refreshing blend of classic and modern touches that will appeal to a wide range of customers in the luxury midsize SUV segment.
We will soon have live shots of the 2020 Aviator from the Los Angeles Auto Show floor. So keep checking back to see a more detailed view of Lincoln’s new SUV. Here are four more videos that you should watch:
