Chevy Colorado ZR2 bison “Plus” in the Works with More Off-Road Chops

This would be an upgrade tire/fender package that is only available through American Expedition Vehicles.

American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), if the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison doesn’t seem cool enough for you, could offer a solution. According to reports, the aftermarket company will offer an upgraded tire option that can be used in conjunction with the high-clearance fender flares which were unveiled earlier this summer at the 2019 Overland Expo West. The 35-inch tires will give the mid-sized off-roader more ground clearance and a deeper bite in the earth. Special fender flares will provide the required clearance, and they would be included in a special Bison package.

The word came from Muscle cars & Trucks. They spoke with the company about the plans. AEV worked with General Motors to bring ZR2 Bison to showrooms. However, this new addition would not be sold through dealers. It would instead be sold separately by the aftermarket company.Chevy Colorado ZR2 bison "Plus" in the Works with More Off-Road Chops

AEV apparently wanted larger tires right from the beginning. According to the report, there was some disagreement over the size of the tires. However, GM didn’t want to spend money on additional testing to determine how the larger rubber would work with the truck. The Bison that you can currently buy at dealers rides on 31-inch tires. These are not small. The Chevrolet-branded grille is also included.

The report does not include details on the cost or availability of the tire/fender package. AEV will be attending the 2019 SEMA Show with an upgraded Bison. Bison Plus is the current working name for the truck, but something more creative could emerge before the package goes on sale.
