Hot-Weather Testing for the Renault Espace Revamped

There are no major changes.

We last saw the revamped Renault Espace in January 2013. It was pre-production form. It was quite a sight to see the French minivan driving sideways on a snowy road. Six months later, we have a new set of spy photos showing the vehicle continuing its tests in Southern Europe. It’s time to test the vehicle in hot weather.

This prototype is still covered in camouflage, so we are not allowed to see the changes. It is likely that we will see a subtle makeover, with an updated radiator grille and headlights as well as modified lights at both the front and back. Although we are unable to confirm this, the front LED the aytime running lamps will likely be reshaped in order to match those found in the Megane and Talisman.Hot-Weather Testing for the Renault Espace Revamped
e interior will likely not see major changes as Renault is trying to keep the research and development costs of the segment as low as possible. Nevertheless, minor modifications to the infotainment and the digital cluster software can be made, along with additional color schemes or upholsteries.

The Espace already comes with an Alpine-sourced, 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline motor. This unit will likely be available in the new versions as well as the diesel-powered dCi models with 160 to 200 horsepower (119 kilowatts) and 149 kW. All configurations come standard with a dual-clutch auto gearbox.

The facelifted Espace will be making its debut this fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Sept. The year should be a good year for sales.
