Do you remember when badges meant something? In 1999, the short-lived SL 73 AMG was released. It featured a 7.3-liter engine. At its launch, the V12 roadster from the R129 series had 518 horsepower (386 Kilowatts) & 553 pound-feet (753 Newton-meters) respectively.

Fast forward to 2021 and Mercedes is reviving the legendary “73” name for a new line of AMGs. In February 2018, the three-pointed star trademarked several models that the “73” name.
