This is the best view of the performance sedan we have seen.
We were thrilled to see the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody in action for the first-time in March this year. Although it wasn’t confirmed that this was a prototype, it did give us strong indications that work is ongoing and a debut is imminent. We now have a better chance to see it – this clip is a month later.
This video was originally discovered by MoparInsiders. The video shows what appears to have been a Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody in a dirty parking lot, probably during filming for a promotional video.
We can see that the performance sedan will be getting some subtle but elegant visual changes. The body-colored spoiler is also new, in addition to the beefier bumpers and wider wheel arches. The kit includes a set of larger wheels, a diffuser at the rear with two integrated exhaust pipes and a large diffuser. This is the only part we can see in the low-quality clip.
According to the Internet, the Charger will have an extra 10 horsepower (7.5 kilowatts), from the supercharged V8 engine of 6.2-liter. This will give it a total power output of 717 hp (535kW). The suspension system should be tweaked, along with standard electric power steering and 20-inch wheels wrapped in 305/35 ZR20 Pirellis. According to Word Dodge plans to offer a Redeye version with Challenger Hellcat Redeye-matching horsepower of 797 HP (594 kW).
American manufacturer suggested the widebody Charger at the SoCal LX Club’s 14th Annual Spring Fest at Auto Club Raceway, Pomona, California in March. The production vehicle will be available in a matter of weeks.
