We have all details about the Brabus GL 63 Biturbo SUV. It has the same 650 hp and 850 Nm engine as the ML 63. See photos and more inside.
Brabus, a German tuner, released the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class they made last month at Dubai Motor Show. Brabus GL 63 Biturbo is fitted with the Mercedes eight cylinder engine ML 63 AMG. It can produce 650 horsepower and 850 Nm torque.
Brabus may be familiar with this number because they used the same engine as the ML63 Biturbo. The SUV was launched in Geneva last year with a top speed at 310 km/h (192.6 miles).
The GL 63 is a little slower with a top speed at 300 km/h (186.4 mph) and a sprint time of 4.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. It is mated with a modified Speedshift 7G–Tronic automatic transmission and permanent 4-wheel drive. The engine features a modified twin turbo system that is more responsive, a large water-to air intercooler, as well as other upgrades to the intake, exhaust, brakes and suspension. The vehicle now rides on forged 23 inch wheels. Available are 21-inch and 22-inch wheels.
Brabus will also make the SUV available with the Widestar package. This includes a 3-centimeter wide front apron and rocker panels, larger air inlets, and rocker flares. A new LED daytime running light, four additional headlamps, and underfloor lighting have been added. A quad-pipe exhaust, roof spoiler, rear diffuser, and rear apron were all installed.
Interior upgrades include Alcantara and Mastik leather. You also have the option of carbon-fiber or wood trim. Each color option is available in a full palette. The rear passengers have access to a DVD player and LCD screens integrated into their seats.
