BMW is now focusing its efforts on the larger SUVs. After enhancing the X1 and X3 M/X4 M duos with M Performance Parts, it has developed a number of accessories to improve the sporty feel. The Bavarians developed carbon fiber body parts for the X5M, , X6, and X6M. These parts were hand-made and sealed with clear finishes to give them a more striking visual impact.
The carbon fiber reinforced plastic can be found almost everywhere, including the kidney grille at the front and the rear diffuser. Side sill inserts made of CFRP are also available. Optionally, the derriere can be equipped with black fins with a high-gloss finishing and a spoiler on the roof that has a similar finish. X5 M
The swoopy X6 is the best choice. BMW will gladly provide you with a black matte wrap with gray stripe and M Performance branding. You can also get the X7 with the model’s inscription on the back in high-gloss Black to make it stand out from the rest. The company’s flagship SUV also has carbon fiber side mirror caps that give the and X7 an even sportier look.
The regular X6 can also be ordered with the M Performance brakes for the full-fat X6M. These have larger vented and perforated disks, coupled to red calipers. All four SUVs are available with an assortment of alloy wheels, ranging from 21 inches to 22 inches for winter sets and 22 inches for summer sets. The exterior changes are completed by LED projectors, which display the M logo on each door.
One highlight of the cabin is the M Performance steering wheels, which are wrapped in Alcantara with carbon fiber accents. Buyers can choose a carbon fiber finish to match the steering wheel, instead of the usual chrome surface for the shift paddles. Other accessories include stainless steel pedals and footrests, floor mats and tire bags. A key holder is also available. All items are marked with M Performance branding.
BMW is exaggerating by adding the M badge to almost everything. It dilutes the meaning of the letter M, according to some. However, customers who prefer a pure M model (and SUVs) can choose to skip these items and opt for something more traditional such as an . The new M Performance bits are available starting next month.
