This is Not Your Average eBay Car Ad: An Eight-Wheeled, Stretched Volkswagen BusIt requires a lot of work. It is possible to get it cheaply.

What kind of cars are you most likely to see on eBay? We’ve seen some interesting finds on eBay over the years, aside from the boring ones. One time, we saw a Toyota Crown hearingse go for $20,000 while an art deco car that was part Corvette, part Audi TT went up for bidding just over a year ago.

These two aren’t even close to this peculiarity.
Volkswagen Bus that is up for auction. The stretched bus has eight wheels, or at least that’s what it is supposed to have. It also includes a variety of people-hauling vehicles.
The ad claims that the VW bus was built in the 1970s by Papa Smurf, an Iowa custom van builder. Papa Smurf was not only a cartoon character, but also a very popular figure in the customer van circuit of the late ’70s to early ’80s. The stretched van was actually once made up of two VW buses and one Ford van.

The ad includes photos of the odd VW Frankenbus during its glory days. It has five axles (two front axles to steer) and is shown in the ad. The bus is not in the best of condition today, and even has lost its rear-most axle.

However, the eBay owner is very honest about his listing. Although photos of the interior of the VW bus are not included in the photo set we can still deduce its condition from the exterior images. But, the brakes are still working so that’s a good sign.

We can assume that the seller won’t be asking for a lot for this bus. If you are looking for a project vehicle with a lot to do, the starting bid is just $1,500.
