A few portions of the event remain active for now.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers of the Paris Motor Show have cancelled the main portion of their automotive event for 2020. It was scheduled to take place between October 1 and 11. It was supposed to take place from October 1 through 11. This is subject to change.
In a translation of their announcement, the organizers stated that “Nothing will ever be the same as it was before” and that the crisis should teach them to be more creative, agile, and innovative than ever.
After a similar decision in regards to the 2020 North American Internation Auto Show, Detroit , the Paris show was cancelled. The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s plans to transform Cobo Hall, where the event is held, into a field hospital to treat COVID-19 patients was part of the reason for that decision. In June 2021, the Detroit show will be back.
The normal schedule of automotive events has been disrupted by the coronavirus epidemic. The Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the New York Auto Show were both rescheduled later in the year. The Geneva Motor Show did not take place.
The situation has prompted automakers to close down their factories around the globe. The problem is that many people are not able to purchase a new vehicle, making it even more difficult for the business. In the United States, most plants close by April. This means that it may take several weeks before things get back to normal.
