Square is trendy.
Electric cars are not coming. They’re already here and it’s only a matter time before they become mainstream. EV Revolution enters the vast realm of motorhomes. This creation was already seen in our previous preview. Vanlifer.com Camper conversion company based in New Zealand and the UK. The Tesla Semihome concept Vanlifer designer Jason Hablous had a vision for something smaller. Vanlifer’s Arrival Electric Van Camper Concept is here!
The square shape may be familiar to Motor1.com readers around the world. Arrival, an electric automaker, has a small fleet of these lightweight composite vehicles that are available for both UPS and Royal Mail delivery in and around London. Vanlifer was able to see more than just the cargo space in these runabouts and designed a compact, yet spacious EV camper using its rectangular design.
This compact camper is still in its preliminary stages. Details on the interior accommodations are not yet available. The Arrival has more space than standard vans similar in size, as it doesn’t have an engine, fuel tank or any other components that are associated with internal combustion. The Arrival has a pop-up roof that is similar to the famous rectangular-shaped campervan from Volkswagen. Side windows also break down the slab sides of the delivery model. The Arrival has a range of 150 miles so it wouldn’t be a cross country tourer. It could, however, be a great weekend getaway for anyone looking to escape the city.
This Vanlifer design is only a rendering. Arrival is still at the concept stage, but it has its delivery vehicles. Royal Mail and UPS have used these vans in a kind of real-world beta testing. We are in love with the idea for EV campers. The extra space and no need to pump petrol by the tankerload, will make these vehicles a great choice. We believe that the day is near, with Vanlifter and other companies already designing EV campers.
