Brabus presents a darker version of the small SUV.
Brabus is well-known for adding a unique aftermarket flair to Mercedes Benz vehicles. We saw many interpretations of GLE and GLS this year from the German tuner. The GLB crossover gets the same Brabus treatment but it is a little more subtle.
The front fascia is updated with new lower vents and a spoiler that’s two-piece. However, these add-ons can only be used with the AMG Line bumper. The Mercedes tri-star emblem is now replaced by the Brabus “B”, and the GLB’s roof has two LED light bars. This gives it a rugged appearance that is reminiscent of the G-Class.
Only the rear is modified by the ducktail spoiler, which matches the front bumper and quad exhaust tips in black. The new pipes are a robust 3.5-inch in diameter and provide a stronger note to the GLB.
Brabus customs make the 10-spoke wheels. They are available in sizes 18-, 19 and 20 inches and can be wrapped in Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama rubber. Inside, you’ll find new floor mats and aluminum pedals as well as light-up door sills and a trunk liner featuring appropriate Brabus branding.
The biggest changes Brabus made were under the sheet metal. The GLB 250 receives an additional 46 horsepower (34 Kilowatts) as well as 59 pound-feet (80 Newton meters). This brings the total output to 267 horsepower (200 kW) 316 lbft (430 Nm). The overall ride height can be reduced by installing a new suspension system. An optional off-road option can increase it by 1.4 inches. Brabus claims that we will soon have information about the price.
