Fans and followers of Chief Hoonigan Ken Block still vividly remember last years crash and fiery demise his vintage Escort Cosworth. Block and Alex Gelsomino, Block’s co-driver, were competing at the New England Forest Rally. They managed a respectable third place despite having gearbox problems with the Cossie. Block was unable to control the Escort’s corner and clipped rocks, causing it to roll into a ditch before exploding in flames. Block and Gelsomino were both fine but the car was total loss.

Block promised to rebuild the car, but there was nothing left of it. Although the latest car is still an Escort cosworth, it has more to its exterior than a retro/modern look. The car has been reimagined to be a modern WRC machine. It features widebody fenders, a big diffuser at back and many aero tweaks. Under the hood, you’ll find a Cosworth four-pot that is period correct. It can make 371 horsepower. The sequential six-speed box controls shifting, instead of the seven-speed in the previous car. Although the livery is modern, rally enthusiasts from the 1980s will recognize the blue stripes of the Group A Sierra Cosworth.zlock plans a world tour to show off his colors. He will be stopping at rallies in New Zealand and Ireland, San Marino, Poland, San Marino and Switzerland. Block will also be accompanied by Cossie V2 at 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
