We have all the details here, including pricing and additional information on the Mercedes-Benz S63 and S65 AMG 2010.
The 2010 Mercedes-Benz S63 and S65 AMG facelifts have received new details. The S63 AMG short-wheelbase has a 525 horsepower, 6L V8 engine that produces up to 630 Nm. It starts at EUR115,700, before taxes. An additional EUR6,000 is available for the long-wheelbase model.
The S65 AMG costs EUR185,900, but the 612 horsepower provided by the biturbo V12, which is 6.0-liter, may be more than enough to attract new customers. The V12 produces a huge 1000 Nm of torque and guarantees a 0-100 km/h speed of 4.4 seconds. This is 0.2 seconds quicker than the S63. Electronically, both cars can only travel 250 km/h. The S63’s driver controls the AMGSPEEDSHIFT7G-Tronic transmission. The S65 uses a five-speed manual.
Mercedes didn’t have to reduce the performance of these vehicles in order to increase fuel economy, which is quite impressive. Both CO2 emissions and consumption were both reduced by up to 3 per cent.
These two cars may make many S-Class AMG customers jealous, judging by the way they look. The new arrow-shaped radiator grille, with twin chrome louvres on S65, is a powerful status symbol for a car that commands respect. AMG-spec LED daytime lamps are located just above the air outlets to either side of the front panel.
This angle leads to the new sidesills. These blend with the new side mirros and form a clear line to the rear of the car. A new rear apron with a body-color diffuser has been installed. It replaces the previous black diffuser. To make the taillights, 52 LEDs have been shaped in a double ‘C’ pattern. Chrome is used for the quad exhaust pipes. The prominently displayed badges “6.3 AMG”, “V12 Biturbo”, and “V12 Biturbo” are prominently featured.
The wheels are the only difference between the two cars. The S63 has 19-inch multispoke wheels while the S65 has a 20-inch set. Both wheels come in Titanium gray with glossy finishes. You can also purchase larger wheels as an option for the S63.
Standard equipment includes the Active Body Control AMG sport suspension. ABC stabilizes the car in the event of strong winds blowing from the sides. This system adjusts the wheel load distribution in milliseconds and works with Electronic Stability Program to minimize the effects of crosswinds. Torque Vectoring Brakes increase cornering by setting the caliper pressure at the inner rear wheel. AMG Adaptive Brakes can also be included. They use a double floating brake lever at the front.
The S-class AMG interior features a lot of leather and multifunctioning AMG sports seats that can be used to give you a massage if you require one. The AMG analogue clock and AMG aluminum shift paddles connect to a Direct Select transmission. A piano black lacquer is available with carbon fiber AMG trim.
