Busan Motor Show 2017 Genesis G80 unveils the Sport Version

Hyundai’s premium marque Genesis unveiled the 2017 G80, which will be available in a Sport version.

The Genesis G80 was initially shown at the Detroit Auto Show in January, but it was actually a rebadged Hyundai Genesis. The actual 2017 G80 was introduced today by Genesis at the Busan Motor Show. It hasn’t been modified in design. This is the real deal. The G80 Sport looks a lot more aggressive, and has quad exhaust tips. It also seems to have a sportier suspension.

We are unable to provide a press release at this time, but we did check South Korean websites and found that it had the G90’s biturbo V6 engine with 370 horsepower (272 Kilowatts) & 376 pound-feet (376 newton meters).

The larger G90 has the new six-cylinder. It is connected to an eight speed automatic transmission, allowing the sedan to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 6.2 seconds. The G80 is lighter and smaller than the Equus-replacing G90 so you can expect to see a sub-6 second time.

Once we receive a press release, we will keep you informed. You can watch the official unveiling of the G80/G80 Sport at Busan Motor Show, starting at 11:20.
