It measures 42 feet in height and is ready to party like a 2099.
Remember August’s crazy limousine made from a Lear Jet? The amazing machine was discovered at a Dallas, Texas mobile electronics convention. We were so impressed that we called Jetsetter, Inc. to get more details. For the complete story of this amazing build, we recommend that you return to our article. You’ll also want the inside scoop because Limo-Jet just released a new video showing the Limo-Jet working. It’s ready for action, and we are eager to take a ride.
When we first took photos of Limo-Jet in August, it looked bigger than life. But watching it in motion on video is a whole different level. It measures 42 feet in length, with the Lear Jet tail still intact. . . 11.6 feet high. Although the jet engine nacelles remain in place, they do not contain actual jet engines. Limo-Jet uses a Vortec V8 from GM for its motivation, but that’s OK – there was enough room in the nacelles for speakers. They are big.
The Limo-Jet is actually more like a limousine than a limousine inside. Although there are eight people, the Limo-Jet can still accommodate them all with its television screens, speakers and amplifiers. The pilot driver sits alone up front, with banks of switches to view the road-going aircraft when it is in motion.
Frank DeAngelo was one of the co-creators of the Limo-Jet. When we spoke with him in August, he confirmed that it was street legal and not as difficult to drive. It looks amazing rolling down the road. Although the whole getting a limo to the Airport to get your Jet limo theme sounds a little silly, it is even more impressive parked in a hanger alongside other aircraft.
We admit that we are a lot of plane nerds, but is there another limo on the planet that can match it?
