It’s a Porsche killer, says the boss of the company.
We are intrigued. The 2017 Beast Alpha was introduced by Rezvani at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November with a removable targa-style cover. Its starting price is just below $200,000. According to the company’s website, the car currently has a sticker of $149,000. The boutique marque now has a teaser image revealing that the 2018MY will be less than $100,000. Ferris Rezvani, the CEO of the company, said that the 2018MY will be “all-new for 2018” and would be a Porsche killer with a greater focus on the enthusiast.
Rezvani Motors was founded in California in 2014. The new model year will offer a variety of unique features that are tailored to a wider customer base while still maintaining the race car-like performance and exotic design.
Although technical specifications are not available, the 2017MY (pictured below) with its forward-sliding doors and carbon fiber body weighs in at 1,950 pounds (885 kgs). This is thanks to an aluminum monocoque made from Lotus-derived aluminium. The roadster’s heart is a turbocharged, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 500 horsepower. It can go from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds if fitted with an optional sequential automatic transmission. The standard six-speed manual sprints the distance in just 3.5 seconds. The 2017 Beast Alpha specification will reach 175 mph (282 km/h) if you go all-out.
Pre-orders are already being accepted for the 2018 Alpha Beast. This is in preparation for an official debut which is scheduled for the second quarter. Rezvani requires a $1,000 deposit to reserve a place on the early adopter list.
