Thank you to the Cayenne engine.
It’s a fact that a redesign Porsche will not be available for long. The Porsche Macan debuted in standard and S versions. Today we see the new Turbo.
Both Macan models were turbocharged but this Turbo. This means that the Turbo’s twin-turbocharged, 2.9-liter V6 is used from the Panamera or Cayenne. Although the engine size may be smaller, the power output is increased from 348 to 435 horses. From 354 lb.ft, torque climbs to a solid 406 pound. The Macan Turbo with Sport Chrono Package can reach 168 mph in 4.3 seconds. This extra power is what gives it extra performance. The power is channeled to the standard Porsche Traction Management all wheel-drive system via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
The usual options are available for agility. A variable air suspension is also available. It features “optimized roll pistons and new shock absorber hydraulics” and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. Porsche’s Surface Coated Brakes are standard on the Turbo, unlike other Macans. This coating reduces dust by 90%, improves responsiveness and reduces wear.
The Macan Turbo’s performance is the main reason you should buy it. However, there are some tweaks to its style ( seen in spy photos). The front fascia is more aggressive and better suited for the new engine. A new low-key rear wing adds spice to the Macan turbo’s tail. The latter element is particularly popular. It’s a great balance between sporty and special, without being too loud or obvious. Standard features include 20-inch wheels and Sport Design style elements on side skirts.
Porsche Turbo models are usually priced at a premium of $25,000, but there is a proportionate increase in standard equipment. Customers can enjoy 18-way sport seats with standard leather upholstery, Alcantara headliner and a steering wheel that is inspired by the 911. A 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen is standard on all Macans and offers customers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Standard equipment includes a Bose 14-speaker audio system.
The 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo starts at $83,600, before the $1350 destination fee. Sales will begin later in the year. You can expect more information, including additional photos, next month when the Macan Turbo arrives at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.
