We hope the brown stuff in the pipes is not sediment.
We will start with what we do know. Although it is not much, the details are irrelevant. The clip opens with the box truck entering the garage. There is a timestamp at the end of the clip. The driver does not seem to be bothered by the warning sign. Ceiling beams can be seen on either side, with what we later discover to be water pipes running in front of the camera. The truck goes straight up until it reaches the pipes. It bends them slightly, but appears to cause no other damage.
The video is only 10 seconds long, but the driver can slowly back out without anyone being wiser about this stupid decision. This is the common-sense move. However, common sense was already out of the garage when the truck entered it. So what’s next? Instead of driving straight, the driver veers to the side and reversing, which causes the tall box to strike the ceiling beam. Although it’s now strike two, you can still make a quick getaway. You might not need to pay for any damage if you just scrub the U-Haul’s corner.
The panic sets in. It sets in quickly, oh boy!
This is the only way to explain the bizarre events that comprise the rest of the footage. The driver leaps forward and hits the ceiling beam, breaking the overhead water pipe. This apparently causes more panic. Although we don’t know the location of this garage, water spray suddenly turns a dismal brownish color. We hope it is just sediment from sprinkler pipes. The chaos continues, and neither the driver or the passenger seem to understand what they are doing.
The driver finally realizes the solution that we have known from the beginning. The U-Haul is now straightened in the narrow space and ready to reverse out of its watery hell. It’s soaked and dinged but still recoverable. Although we are all looking forward to a happy ending, there is one last twist that will ensure your faith in humanity or at least in rental truck drivers won’t be restored soon.
Keep safe, everyone. Don’t let a large truck get into a small space. It’s hard to believe that we have to tell you this.
