It should be revealed in its entirety on June 1.
After a long development process and a teasing campaign, this BMW was finally made available in production form in March of this year. The i4 M Sport was also revealed by the Bavarian firm at the Auto Shanghai 2021. We might get a sneak peak at the performance electric car as the brand prepares for the launch of the i4M50.
This image was originally posted on Instagram, but it was soon removed. It was quickly downloaded and we now have a look at the most likely new i4 M50 in matte blue. You can see that the front fascia has an M badge. This is in addition to a few visual upgrades.
BMW Blog explains that the electric sedan has many typical M Sport exterior components. This includes a more aggressive front bumper, with larger air openings, and wider side skirts in matte Black. A new set of wheels features a multi-spoke design, a diamond-cut finish and gloss black inners.
Overall, the car is even more aggressive than last month’s Chinese unveiling of the i4 M Sport. Although the tech details are still unknown, we do know that the more powerful i4 will be 523 horsepower (390kilowatts), which is enough to sprint in four seconds (0-62 miles per hour) and cover 0-100 km/h. The battery’s range will be as long as 590 km between charges, according to Europe’s WLTP cycle. It can also provide energy for up to 300 miles of EPA certified range.
Reports suggest that the lower versions will include two rear-wheel drive variants named i4 EDrive35 and I4 eDrive40. These models should be less powerful and have a lower range of charges. BMW Blog has announced that the full launch of the i4 range will be on June 1, 2013. We’ll hopefully have more information.
