Faith in humanity can’t be restored. It must be amplified 1000 times.
Sometimes, something truly touching happens in our daily routine of gathering news and interesting events from the auto industry. The Motor1.com Family loves cars and animals of all kinds. Your author is one of those cat lovers. This is why the story is both wonderful and sad. However, we hope beyond hope that there will be a happy ending.
This heartwarming story by Japanese Nostalgic Car was shared with us. It begins as many great car stories. This white Toyota Supra 1989 was purchased by Leiz, a man we don’t know. It wouldn’t be unusual to find it in the States, but Leiz was in Japan. According to the Yahoo Japan auction, he bought it from a friend in California. Leiz has kept the car in great shape for 27 years, making it a unique left-hand-drive Supra Turbo in Japan.
Leiz has a special furry friend in his life: Silk, a cat. Silk, a brave boy, was diagnosed with a deadly virus that can often be fatal and costly to treat. Leiz understood that pets are more than just pets. He did the right thing in such a circumstance. Leiz set out to find the money he needed to pay for his treatment. Silk needed the modified Supra to be sold at the exact price.
Here is where things change for the better. This story became a viral sensation in Japan and attracted the attention of another car enthusiast who had deep pockets and a greater love for animals. The car was purchased at full price, with a little extra for vet bills. But it wasn’t over. He said that he would fix some of the areas that needed attention and build a garage to store it. When things are better, he would sell the car back at Leiz for the exact same price.
Leiz could visit the town and take the car for a ride. This wonderful benefactor provided a loan of approximately $27,000 with no interest. It allowed Leiz to take care of Silk and also kept him connected to his A70. Who’s crying? We aren’t crying. We might be able to cry a little.
Silk is still a touch-and-go. Leiz maintains an online blog that includes updates daily. The latest news is a mixture of news. Although Silk has returned home from the hospital with some minor issues, he is still not feeling well. We are all rooting for Silk with all our hearts. Even if things turn sour, Silk’s story, and the kindness of fellow enthusiasts, have touched many hearts around the globe. We are simply grateful to be able to share this with you and look forward to seeing Silk happy again.
